2FA for Gaming: PSN, Fortnite & Call of Duty
Gamers are prime targets for hackers. Protecting your account with Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) is no longer optional—it's essential to protect your skins, progress, and payment info.
PlayStation Network (PSN) 2-Step Verification
Sony allows you to use either SMS or an Authenticator App. We highly recommend using an app for better security.
- Sign in to your PSN account settings on a browser.
- Navigate to Security > 2-Step Verification.
- Select Authenticator App and scan the QR code.
Epic Games & Fortnite 2FA
Enabling 2FA in Fortnite often rewards players with exclusive items (like the Boogie Down emote). To set it up:
- Visit the Epic Games Security page.
- Find Two-Factor Authentication and toggle on Third-Party Authenticator App.
Gaming Pro Tip: Apple Watch Sync
In the middle of a match and need to sign in to a companion app or secondary account? Don't look for your phone.
Use GAuth Exporter to see your PSN and Epic codes directly on your Apple Watch.
Get the Watch AppCall of Duty (Activision) Authenticator
Protect your COD points and Warzone stats. Activision accounts support standard TOTP authenticator apps. Simply head to your Activision Profile settings and enable 2FA under the privacy tab.
What if I lose my gaming 2FA device?
Crucial: Always save your "Backup Codes" provided during setup. If you don't have them, you may have to contact PlayStation or Epic support, which can take days or weeks.
